You can find here the keys to “ilu”, my self-invented phonetical alphabet.
Seeking to reconcile the drawing and writing, I gradually moved away from our Latin alphabet. I completely reformulated its architecture in space, since it no longer answered to my questions about meaning of form and substance. Thus was born, after long maturing in my drawers, “ilu”, an original phonetic system. With this raw material I write, I draw, I point out by colored contrasts these “signs-vehicles” that speak to us, able to denote the existences, sounds, senses, like an embryonic language. Following sometimes forms, sometimes sounds, sometimes the colors I constantly discover senses and non-senses, that will give depth to my paintings inherently flat and mute. The foreign script that we can neither speak nor understand, even though we can see it and perceive its “voice”, will push our imagination to fill in the gaps to animate the scene, “Your scene”.
